Our latest project, for Warwickshire-based Munster Joinery saw Wind Energy Direct successfully installing 4MW of wind power on the joinery firm’s location in Ballydesmond.
This innovative project is the first of its kind in Ireland and marks the beginning of autoproduction for large energy users.
Wind Energy Direct installed two Enercon 2MW wind turbines on the production site of Munster Joinery, a leading manufacturer of energy efficient windows and doors. This on-site energy source will provide Munster Joinery with:
- Significant energy cost savings currently being enjoyed
- Provides 30% of the company’s energy needs
- On-site carbon savings of over 4,000 tonnes per annum
Munster Joinery said: “The regulator was imposing increases on tariffs, which were being passed to us, in the region of 20%. The installation of these wind turbines gives us the opportunity to break that energy inflation.”
